Our Gift Shop, formally known as the curio store, has a history almost as old as the Buckhorn itself! Albert Friedrich started the curio store in 1920 in response to Prohibition, which outlawed the sale of beer or liquor in the United States. Albert needed a way to support his family, and, since the Buckhorn had already become somewhat of an attraction, he decided that a curio store would suit the bill.

The original store motto, "Honest Goods and Honest Dealin's", is still the backbone of our success today. The Buckhorn Curio Store is proud to have captured the essence of the Old West and to share it with good folks like yourself. Of course, you'll find t-shirts, mugs, the film and batteries you forgot, and many delightful items that could only come from Texas!
